She is the Principal flutist of the Dutch Ballet Orchestra in Amsterdam National Opera and Ballet, and a member of the modern music ensemble Collegium Novum Zürich in Switzerland. This debut album is a long-term personal project that is finally coming to fruition.
Le Nouveau Salon is an ambitious recording project combining an innovating look on the flute repertoire to the French writer Marcel Proust and the musical life of the Parisian “Salons” from ”La Belle Epoque”. Together with a fantastic team of musicians, recording producer Guido Tichelman, visual artist Kaupo Kikkas and the wonderful team of Et’cetera records, Sarah has created a home experience of a new Proustian Parisian Salon.
"For this debut album, I dared to revisit and rearrange masterpieces by Schubert, Ravel, Debussy and Prokofiev. I found my inspiration in the proustian involuntary memory theme, and my multiple musical expatriations. It is also an "hommage" to the great mentors that have helped me along the way. Not only will you hear me play the flute, but you will also hear me recite a poem…"
